ntertek Testing Services conducted two evaluations for GeoPolymer Solutions FP250 Fireproofing material to assess its jet fire resistance, according to the ISO 22899-1:2007(E) standard for passive fire protection materials. The evaluations occurred on February 26, 2019, and February 28, 2019.
In both tests, GeoPolymer Solutions provided samples of Cold Fusion Concrete® FP250 that were spray-applied to the testing apparatus. The material was prepared and tested on two different types of structures: a steel pipe for the first test, and structural steelwork for the second test.
The February 28 test was conducted on a more complex steel assembly—a structural steelwork specimen with a 20 mm steel section welded to a re-circulation chamber back plate. The February 26 test was performed using a 12-inch diameter steel pipe.
The fireproofing material’s wet density on both dates was 68 pcf, which dried to 52 pcf. The average dry thickness was 1.89 inches for the pipe test and 1.86 inches for the steel assembly test.
After fireproofing application, the materials were oven-dried and tested after reaching atmospheric conditions. Both tests were carried out in accordance with ISO 22899-1 standards, using sandblasted surfaces and proper insulation for the setups.
The average fireproofing material Shorr D hardness remained consistent across both tests at 24.
